Added

Button-only downloads. A file is sent only when a visitor presses a download button or link on your site. A crawler asking for the link directly gets a “Your download is ready” pop-up instead, and nothing is recorded. On by default; switch it off on the Settings tab.

A download limit. By default one visitor can download the same file 3 times every 10 minutes.

Blocked requests are counted. Each counter shows how many requests were blocked in the same period, and the File Downloads table shows them for each file.

A Help button on every tab that explains the counters and what counts as blocked.

Two search boxes on the Logs tab. Each matches any column, results appear as you type, and Export to CSV follows the search.

A copy icon beside each IP address in the logs.

A bin icon beside the copy icon in the logs. It deletes that one entry, after asking you to confirm.

A Note for each exempt IP address, so you can record why it is exempt.

A “Hide this text in file addresses” setting. Long addresses on the admin screens are shortened: by default the address of your site and of its uploads folder is hidden. The copy icon still copies the full address.

Changed

Settings is now a tab of its own, with cards for Download protection, Exempt IP addresses and Download button colours.

The Today, This Week, This Month and All Time counters are at the top of every tab.

On the Dashboard the Add New File form and the File Downloads table are separate cards, and Cancel is a button beside Update File.

The File Downloads table has its Downloads column before File URL and its copy icons inside the fields. Password managers no longer add their icons to those fields.

The Logs filters and buttons are laid out in two rows, and deleting rows opens the styled confirmation window.

The admin screens use the logo’s navy and teal throughout.

On the Files card a file is chosen with Upload New File or Browse Server Files. The address box can no longer be typed into, and the Choose from Media Library button is gone because it opened the same window as Upload New File.

The Download Logs tab is now called Logs.

Status in the File Downloads table is now a dropdown. Choose Draft or Published, then press the tick beside it to save or the cross to cancel. A new file starts as a Draft, and the Published tick box is gone from the Files card.

Edit and Delete in the File Downloads table are icons.

The logo at the top of the admin screens is smaller.

Fixed

The “Show the Shortcode column” setting was only saved when the hover text colour was valid.

0.32.7

Added

An Exempt IP addresses box in the Settings widget. Downloads from the addresses listed there (one IPv4 or IPv6 address per line) are still served as normal but are not recorded, so your own servers fetching plugin updates no longer fill the log.

0.32.6

Changed

The File Analytics panels now fill 70% of the browser window’s height (was 80%).

0.32.5

Changed

The File Analytics panels now fill 80% of the browser window’s height (never less than 480px) instead of a fixed 700px, so the chart uses the space available on larger screens.

0.32.4

Changed

On the File Analytics tab the file list and the chart panel are now the same height (700px). The file list scrolls inside its panel and the chart fills the space below the summary cards.

0.32.3

Changed

Deleting a file now opens a styled confirmation window instead of the browser’s plain pop-up. It names the file and version, says how many download records will be removed, and has Cancel and Delete buttons. Cancel has focus by default; Esc or clicking outside also cancels.

0.32.2

Changed

The delete warning now names the file, for example “Deleting Trust Armory Pro 2.1.1 will also delete any analytics for this download.”

Fixed

The Version and Status column headings in the File Downloads table were the wrong way round. Sorting by Version now sorts by version.

0.32.1

Changed

Deleting a file now warns that its File Analytics will be deleted too, before asking you to confirm.

0.20.0

Added

Random download tokens. Tracked links now carry a random 24-character token instead of the sequential file number.

Changed

Old numeric links keep working only for files that existed at the upgrade, listed in the sdt_legacy_numeric_ids option.

Note

Version numbers restarted at 0.x because the plugin is pre-release. Earlier 1.x entries are history under the old numbering.
